TURKEY: George Andreou, former vice general manager of the Zorlu Center PSM, has established a consultancy for new venue projects in Turkey and the wider Middle East. GA Solutions will offer turnkey venue services, from the birth of the idea to day-to-day operations.

‘We are specialising in venues where people meet for activities like art and culture,’ noted Mr Andreou. ‘Our success has been built on many local relationships and partnerships, including with municipally-owned facilities, event producers, suppliers, architects, developers and industry associations. GA Solutions is a very flexible company. Our professional team adjusts according to the customer needs and to their projects. We have a core crew and we work with associates specialised in each sector. Every phase of each project has different needs. That is why we tailor each solution according to our customers. With this strategy we are able to adjust the budget of each project according to each phase.’ Mr Andreou believes there is

a significant gap in the market where GA Solutions can provide its services. ‘In Turkey there are a lot of venues but not all of them are good. The problem starts from the wrong or non-existent scope and design,’ reasoned Mr Andreou.

‘Investors do not have someone to consult so they talk to architects or technical distribution companies. Architects and distribution companies have a very important role to play in a project, but the art of venue design is a special field.

A dream or a vision for a venue should always be backed up with real life scenarios and data. Only then will it last and establish a successful relationship between the venue and the customer.’

The scope for the new operation is wide and the consultancy is aiming to provide assistance at every stage of a project. ‘In the early stages of project development, GA Solutions offers every service that you may need during the pre-opening timeframe, such as market-needs research, operational feasibility, estimated construction and operations budgets, preliminary designs and alternative solutions,’ explained Mr Andreou. ‘At the design and construction stage, GA Solutions has a wide range of innovative professional partners for every single step.
